Types of Reactions
¡@
In the world that we live in, there are many chemical reactions that result in our surroundings and make Earth the way it is. There are five main types of chemical reactions: combination, decompisition, displacement, metathesis(double displacement), and combustion reactions. We see many of these reactions take place everyday even though many are too slow or too small to be recognized. In addition, most reactions are part of a series of reactions that follow a cause-and-affect pattern; this is one of the reasons that make life on Earth flow so fluidly. Examples of common reactions in daily life are the cycle of photosynthesis, the rusting of iron, the decaying of food, the ignition of fire on our kitchen stoves, etc.. As one can see, chemical reactions are what make life happen, even the physical pain we feel are caused by chemical reactions within our body.
